H: Jeff, your love affair with Google is over and tonight you are talking Bing, what gives?
J: Hi Heather, well my love for any one ad platform may be fickle, but my love of delivering increased leads and sales for kiwi companies will never diminish.
So when sat in my management meeting last week and Stephy Chen, a partner in Web Wonks & one of the most talented woman I know, started talking about some of the insights she and the team are seeing when it comes to Bing advertising, I sat up and took notice.
For listeners who don’t know, Bing is Microsoft’s Search Engine and while the market share is less than 5% across all searches, for specific industry types, there may well be some opportunity to leverage your brand further afield.
H: And do you have some details you can share this week.
J: Haha, well Stephy and our operations team have done some research and found the following:
Brands advertising on Bing have higher visibility (due to lower competition)
Users of Bing tend to be higher educated, have higher incomes, are more engaged, skew female, ads have higher click-through-rates and most important of all ads are cheaper.
You can easily copy over your Google ads campaigns (well just not shopping yet) and you can even create a business listing with your contact details, open hours, etc.
