H: So Jeff I understand that you are going to share with us the results of your Regional Business Partner Campaign
J: Hi Heather.
Yes with applications for funding closing last Friday, I thought it might be insightful for people to understand a bit more about the campaign we ran, and the learnings from the 11 weeks that the Regional Business Partner applications were open.
So, between now and the end of the year, I will cover off the following areas of our campaign; strategy, radio, Google Ads, and email marketing.
H: OK, so obviously you had a plan to start with? Did it work?
Haha, yes we had a plan, but as with many things in business (especially when involving the government), we were working mostly in the dark – so measuring weekly was key to understanding how our campaign was working and yes we were successful.
The strategy we deployed was multi-channel, which means we had marketing messages on radio, in print, on Google, and through email marketing. By combining a single message across all of these mediums, we were able to leverage our brand and also engage a direct message – ie, register for funding.
While any one of these channels by itself can offer value, the multiplier effect of having a broader spread, yielded a greater result for us over the 11 weeks.
So the key takeaways from our strategy was weekly measurement and a broad based multi-channel advertising plan.
